Our Crystalline Master Carver Leandro de Souza is from Brazil. From a young age, Leandro was captivated by the beauty of stones. His passion for carving began with carvings from wood. This laid the foundation for his future work with stones, that has shaped his incredible journey. In his twenties, Leandro began carving crystals, meticulously crafting his own handmade tools.
Leandro personally sources the finest crystals from Brazilian mines, handpicking crystals with high vibrations and the highest of clarity. Believing deeply in the energy each stones holds, Leandro carves with intention, aimimg to activate higher consciousness and uplift those who become guardians of his creations. As a perfectionist, he ensure every detail is meticulously crafted, making each piece truly unique.
Leandro is reowned for his enchanting carvings of Magical children, Shaman, Star Beings, Angels as well as beautiful animal carvings.
Recently Leandro has been creating tender representations of Mother Mary and Jesus, reflecting his special connection with Mary, which has been present since childhood.

For Faithful Soul Sisters and Leandro de Souza, knowing the mine, the source and the journey of a crystal brings authenticity to every carving. Each piece is more than a beautiful mineral. It is a fragment of Brazil’s ancient landscape, thoughtfully selected and transformed by human hands into something that carries history, artistry and spiritual meaning.
Brazil is one of the richest and most diverse gemstone lands in the world. Beneath its ancient mountains and mineral-rich earth lie aquamarine, tourmaline, amethyst, quartz, emerald, Imperial Topaz and many other extraordinary treasures. From the pegmatite mines of Minas Gerais to the amethyst-filled basalt of southern Brazil, every crystal begins with its own geological story. By knowing the mine, the source, the carver and the complete journey of each piece, we are able to offer something truly authentic: a fragment of Brazil’s ancient earth, respectfully chosen and transformed with intention.
Minas Gerais, whose name translates as “General Mines,” is regarded as the gemstone heartland of Brazil. North-eastern Minas Gerais contains one of the world’s greatest concentrations of complex gem-bearing pegmatites, renowned for aquamarine and other beryls, chrysoberyl, topaz, colourful tourmaline and kunzite. The regions surrounding Teófilo Otoni, Governador Valadares, Araçuaí and the Jequitinhonha Valley have supported generations of miners, crystal traders, lapidaries and artists.
Ouro Preto is historically associated with the rare and beautiful Imperial Topaz, while the wider history of Minas Gerais includes early emerald discoveries, gold exploration and the diamond deposits that gave Diamantina its name.
Elsewhere in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul is especially rich in amethyst and agate, often discovered inside cavities within ancient basalt. Ametista do Sul is celebrated for its dramatic amethyst geodes, while the Soledade region became an important centre for preparing and trading these stones.
The states of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte are known for the exceptionally rare copper-bearing Paraíba tourmaline, famous for its intense neon-blue, turquoise and green colours. It was first discovered in Paraíba during the late 1980s. Meanwhile, Pedro II in the state of Piauí is one of Brazil’s best-known opal-producing areas.
The true richness of Brazil lies not only in the number of gems beneath its soil, but in the individual journey of each stone: the mine where it was discovered, the hands that carefully recovered it and the artist who eventually revealed its final form. Exact national production figures can be difficult to measure because many gemstones are recovered by small-scale or independent miners, known as garimpeiros.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Brazilian Master Carver Leandro de Souza, Igor de Souza is developing his own journey within the family’s crystal-carving tradition. Igor is studying to be a Master Carver.
Becoming a master carver in Brazil typically takes up to 20 years of dedicated daily practice.
Igor’s work reveals a growing skill for shaping beautiful natural stones while allowing their individual colours, inclusions and energy to remain at the heart of each creation.
Although Igor is not a master carver, his carvings carry their own character and represent the continuation of a remarkable artistic heritage from father to son. Igor's pieces are valued by collectors wide world.
It is our pleasure at Faithful Soul Sisters to be able to share with you Igor's incredible pieces.
